• Eva Longoria Parker praises 'Desperate Housewives' guest star Vanessa Williams •

Looks like Vanessa Williams' first week in Wisteria Lane has been met with glowing reviews, according to co-star Eva Longoria Parker, who recently spoke to OnTheRedCarpet.com about her first week filming Desperate Housewives' seventh season with the former Ugly Betty actress.

"I had my first scene with Vanessa Williams on Friday. Aside from being stunning - I can't stop staring at her face - she's absolutely wonderful, and sweet, and just a really kind human being," the Desperate Housewives star said.

Williams, guaranteed us earlier this week that her new character will be "worth watching". She is said to play Renee Filmore-Jones, Lynette's old college acquaintance. Desperate Housewives season seven premieres on September 26 on ABC, which confirmed Williams' role in May, saying she would portray "a housewife who's sure to shake things up in the neighborhood and wreak havoc in the lives of the women of Wisteria Lane."

Cast member James Denton had told OnTheRedCarpet.com last week that Williams would make a huge addition to the show.

Brian Austin Green, perhaps best known in recent days as the new husband of actress Megan Fox and who has starred in shows such as Beverly Hills, 90210 and Smallville, has also been confirmed to appear in the upcoming seventh season of Desperate Housewives.

While celebs have paid over one million dollars for a Neil Lane ring, the designer is now making his exclusive bridal designs available to everyone, with prices ranging from $2500 to $7500 in price. Celebrity jewelry lovers checking out the affording bling included the likes of Kristin Davis, Kate Walsh, Eva Longoria, Carmen Electra, Ashlee Simpson and 90210 actress AnnaLynne McCord.

After lunching with friends, Eva Longoria was spotted trying to scurry out of Toast in Beverly Hills on 22 July.

But the 35-year-old Desperate Housewives actress quickly got gridlock blocked by excited fans wanting autographs, a hand shake and to introduce their puppies to to the mega starlet.

Meanwhile, Eva will soon get back to work as she begins filming season seven of Desperate Housewives.

Season seven was originally going to be the final season, according to creator Marc Cherry, but he has a new plan to extend the series two more seasons, meaning an eighth and ninth season.

As for Eva’s upcoming storyline? After losing her business and Orson (Kyle MacLachlan), her husband, Bree (Marcia Cross) begins the process of rebuilding her life by telling Gaby (Eva) a secret that could end their friendship.

Always doing her best to give back to the community, Eva Longoria was out for charitable endeavors at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California on Saturday (July 17). The "Desperate Housewives" star joined up with FC Barcelona soccer player Rafael Marquez to host the Playing for Hope All-Star Celebrity Soccer Challenge.

Tweeting during the day's action, Eva wrote, "Me and Rafa Marquez (mexico's best soccer player) at charity soccer game! I kicked the first ball out! In heels!!!"

• Eva Longoria promote The Starlite Gala in Spain •

On 7 August Starlite Gala will be held at the Hotel Villa Padierna Marbella, a gala of the American actress will host along with actor Antonio Banderas. A charity event in which Eva Longoria works with her own foundation Eva's Heroes, and who wanted to promote it during her recent visit to Spain.

Hollywood actress could not miss this beneficial event, not only because her involvement in it, but to accompany and support her best friends - Sandra Garcia-Sanjuan and Maria Bravo, founder and driving force of the platform Starlite Gala "Enlightened by In light of the stars."

Eva Longoria explain: "To me it is very important to help others and whenever I can do. It does not take much money or be a celebrity. To help the important thing is to spend your time." Also she confesses about her love to Spain: "I love Spain! I like everything: culture, people, food. I have always believed to be Mexican but I did a test and the results indicated that 70%'m Spanish. I must admit that Spain makes me nervous when I am here, I feel weird because I'd like to know much more about this country."

Starlite Gala is a unique international platform that unites the worlds of Business, Celebrities and Philanthropy, to raise funds to improve the quality of life of the needy.

The Gala will feature performances by Rosario Flores, Tamara, Rafael Amargo, David de María, EBS and Soraya, among other artists.
